Thanks for the replies guys. I tried what you said seaney ie. hold power button down for two seconds, but the machine wouldn't even boot up with the chip enabled this time. It went straight to the ms dash. So i pulled it apart, redid my solder joints, again , then rebooted, flashed the new bios and everything seems to be ok. In the process of testing it now. Hope all will be good this time.
The type of Aladdin chip i am using is the Aladdin advance 64, ihaveanosebleed. You can find info on it at http://www.modchips.com.au/index.php?cPath=23_38
Don't know if it is the same one you are talking about. Don't think so though.
