To play on live you will need to disable your mod chip, hence, you will not be able to use any backups. You will need your original discs which shouldn't be a problem as we all know that you can only make backups of games you own
. You can still play with a larger hard drive installed in your xbox as long as you have locked it (which will need to be done if you want to use your xbox with your chip disabled.
