Just about all hdd's are compatable. I would recommend a seagate or western digital, if you are getting a 120gb hdd. Those seem to be the more popular ones, although, could be because they are the cheapest.

I current;y have a 160gb WD drive in my xbox right now, and haven't had any problems with it.

The only thing you really have to watch out for are HDD's that are not lockable. Those cannot go on xbox live, since your HDD has to be locked to go online (without being banned).
