I agree all consoles get dust build up inside. Regular use of a lens cleaner will help prevent dust build up on the lens. It does brush it off the lens although i have never heard of it brushing enough under the lens to damaging the laser sled or motor. If you dont do anything excessive dust will cause heating problems NTM if the cd cleaner pushes that much dust you have a serious living problem as well as a cloged up console and probably shouldnt own a ps2

. I regularly use lens cleaners along with keyboard spray. so far so good
