I'm using DVD Decrypter rip them to .iso.
I used BlindWrite to rip the cd's to .iso but I can't figure out if you can use it to rip dvd's to .iso. I don't think so.
I almost had a system worked out yesterday to get the dvd's to ntsc. I ripped them to .mdf and had them auto-split into 680 mb sections using Alcohol 120%. Then I converted the 1st file to .iso using MagicISO. It was small enough to patch using Adrenaline with the pal2ntscY.data patch u posted on this board. Adrenaline finally worked on it then.
After that, I ran into trouble. Trying to find a prog to either convert the rest of the .mdf files to .iso's was impossible. (the files are actually .md0, .md1, etc. - and simply renaming them to .mdf was not good enough for MagicISO to convert them.). I searched all over the Internet for "convert .mdf to .iso" with no luck. Then, I went at it another way. I tried to find a prog to convert .iso to .mdf, since the 1st .mdf file that I converted to .iso was now patched, and I thought I could simply convert it back to .mdf and it could rejoin its friends and I'd burn it and hopefully it would work. Nope! Absolutely no .iso to .mdf converters anywhere! Everyone wants to convert .mdf to .iso, but noone wants to convert .iso to .mdf!
So, finally I settled for simply renaming the patched .iso to .mdf. It burned fine using Alcohol 120%.
Finally, I took the burned disc and put it in my Matrix Infinity PS2, and it booted great!

Colors were great - image was centered on the screen - the splash logos played great - intro movie starts - first problem arises = some audio sync problems = all sounds in intro movie are doubled - got to the game's title screen - no prob - pushed the Start button - game menu pops up - I start to select "New GAme" and the game freezes up.
So close, yet so far away. Wish I could find the right appz to convert .iso to .mdf - I would probably have it then.
The other thing I'm trying to figure out is - there are tons of utilities on GCW for PSX pal to ntsc, but the PS2 section is scarce. Why is this? It seems most of the sites I dl ps2 backups from have mostly pal images. It seems it would be a priority for home-brew programmers to come up with great one-stop pal to ntsc patchers for this reason.
Oh well, if there's anything you can think of to make converting dvd games from pal to ntsc, please let me know.
Thanks - shaggyd
