Not sure about the fuse at this point until you get the ribbon replaced.
Once you do that, then you can do a test and see if it works. I doubt the ribbon is the only problem though.
As for the fuse, it is very small. Not sure how easy it will be to replace, if at all possible.
Try pm-ing spedmetal. He is extremely skilled in this area. Perhaps he can help you in regard to this fuse delema.
