Time For Reflection

Ok so we all know the score with Sony winning the case against Mod-chips in the UK but there are two things I simply can't get my head around.

The case was won on 2 accounts, 1 being that the modchips enable the user to play copied games, the 2nd being that it allowed games from other regions to be played (which many may, or may not already know is extremely naughty! )

Anyway with that in mind lets look at the facts,

Sony themselves create DVD recorders, VCR recorders and the media to enable anybody to easily tape a film off TV (Illegal)

I recently bought a surround sound kit from the official sony centre in my local town who then offered to make it multiregion for £50 (Without invalidating my warrenty)......HANG ON........the difference between these and the case against David Ball is?

Exactly, there isn't a difference.

I was lucky enough to once own one of the ps2 "test" consoles that are sent to journalists etc. (Look identical to the ps2 apart from saying TEST instead of PS2 on the top.) Now this was a unmodified machine which allowed the playback of all region games, AND cd backups. I never got the hand of booting DVDR's with it :S Why not just make all ps2 consoles like this....so what if people from the UK are importing games. It still goes to Sony and I don't care about the whole its a seperate division. It's still SONY!

Ok i've had my rant. I'm off
