Taking apart the gamecube

I was wondering, how do you do this, my gamecube is having MAJOR trouble reading disks (even brand-new ones that have been adult owned), it starts up and then, when it shows the "Gamecube" icon, it goes into the cube menu (where you can change the time etc) and says "No Disk" also, I wiped it out with a damp, clean cloth and at first that seemed to solve my problem, but, it didn't so i used a can of compressed air on it and some dust came out of the sides as well as the top of the laser, it still won't read and i don't have a warranty because i have had it ever sense the gamecube was released.

Do you think it would help if i took it apart and cleaned it?
