Well, they are able to emulate xbox games on the xbox2, there is enouph power. However, the legality was questionable, which is why there have not been any official announcement about this.

And TFLO was canceled due to more reasons than you suggested. The cause was a past due release, but a late release is an understatement. They made a small announcement a little while back answer a few questions briefly.

Anyways, the game was virtually finished, in fact, they were almost ready to launch it. They were just about to do an online beta program, but that is where the problems started. There were too many errors and glitches in the online code, which essentially made the game. Everything in the game was tied into the online portion of the engine. It was so bad that they would have to spend a great deal of time sorting it out, which I imagine would be like coding half the game engine again.

I said they had good reason, but they have upped this game soo much as being ffxi competetion, that canceling it made me decide not to even get the xbox 2. I see nintendo and sony more reliable in releasing games that have been hyped...for 3 years. They don't realise how much impact it has been on me and a couple of friends, and I assume many others in choosing the next console. An online system, canceling one of its biggest online game. TFLO, Halo 2, and Fable were all I looked forward to this entire year. All I can say is that I know many more people that won't be getting the xbox 2. Sony saw MS's online capability and will surely try to match it. That was all MS had in my eyes, which I favored alot.
