OK...last summer my friend gave me his broken ps2. It wasnt turning on, so I replaced the reset/eject cable, and it booted up fine to bios. However, the drive was broke, so I sold it off for parts. That pissed me off really bad last summer.
Now THIS summer. I ordered a premodded Messiah 2 V9 from manny down at
www.socalmods.com. The ps2 came in yesterday, and I booted up most of the games I had ready fine. However, Megaman Anniversary Collection would only give me a black screen, DDRMAX2 and DDREX JP would keep saying "now loading" whenever I chose a song, and IIDX 7th Style would randomly lock up. These are all on DVD-rs BTW. Then this morning, it would only boot original ps2 games, DVD-rs would always just bring me back to the browser.
So I thought OK, the laser probably just needs re-caliberating. So I followed the guide, and turned the screw clockwise a tad. Now, the ps2 will only boot to bios when the cd tray is open, and when its pulled back in, the controller and reset/eject buttons do no respond (but the LEDS stay lit). The disc seems to start spinning for a second, but then stops.
All I wanted to do was play Bemani games on my ps2...that was really the only reason I bought it...it seems I have the worst luck with ps2s. Any help would be greatly appreciated, im about to run a car battery through the thing.
