I used "select" to try different modesbut could not get combination to work. I noticed on the list Driv3r is listed as compatible with v7, does that mean it will not work with v4 PS2.

The games in the list are games that are already tested with each specific PS2 version. It doesn't mean that it's not working, it just didn't got tested with that version yet. Also under the compatible list is an incompatible list. The list just got started. So if people that tested their games mail their findings, it's getting bigger every time...
