To play Beyond Divinity (English version) with your backup ISO cd images, you will need to be on a LAN (that seems to be the only way), and you'll need a virtual CD drive.
Do the following:
1) Install the game from the 2 cd ISOs
2) Disconnect all of your physical CD/DVD drives on your machine (disconnect power or disconnect signal cable - you can try only disabling them from Device Manager).
3) Copy the CD2 ISO file to a shared folder on the LAN (to another machine - not the one you will be playing on)
4) On your PC, map that shared folder to a drive letter (select the shared folder in explorer, then from the Tools menu select "Map Network Drive..." And choose any available drive letter you like.
5) On your virtual drive, mount the ISO image from its location on the mapped drive letter (this is the critical step - you must tell your virtual drive to use the iso image on the new mapped drive).
6) Run the game and enjoy. No cdkey will be required from you if all goes well. If a cd-key is asked, then you have made a mistake somewhere in applying this procedure. (3 important things: LAN required, no physical CD drives connected, and mount the ISO image from the mapped drive letter, not from the shared folder.)
Enjoy.
BTW I claim no credit for this. I saw a file somewhere explaining it.
It DOES work!
NOTE:
This workaround works with the original version on the cd (v1.1). Some people say that if you apply the game's patch v1.45, it will install an updated version of StarForce3 and this workaround will not work any more.
But perhaps you can make a copy of the registry and the following files before you apply the patch, then update, then reboot in dos (or other OS) and restore the registry and these StarForce3 files (drivers): (I did not try this - DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK!!)
- windows\system32\drivers\prodrv06.sys
- windows\system32\drivers\prohlp02.sys
- windows\system32\drivers\prosync1.sys
- windows\system32\drivers\sfhlp01.sys
- program files\beyond divinity\protect.dll
- program files\beyond divinity\StarForce driver installation\protect.dll
- program files\beyond divinity\StarForce driver installation\drvinst.exe
- Registry file to backup/restore: windows\system32\config\SYSTEM
