Yeah, read the UIS, that's very useful. There aren't any laws in the US that really govern the availability of mods, just the use of them. You'll be fine as long as you own originals for all backups, and don't make more than one backup of a game. You are also not allowed to sell or give away backups. There are NO good solderless options and forget slide cards. Go with a Matrix Infinity if your V4 or V5 is in good condition or a Duo. They are an excellent chip for the cash. It depends what you want out of your mod. If you just want a straight forward, no swap mod, that's cheap and easy to install, go with the Duo, otherwise if you want more features and flash upgrades and updates etc, go with the Matrix.
