ok sounds like you have a solder bridge some were try the back of the board also make sure that you have not burned though a track on the board if the install looks ok then and it is still not working take the chip out and clean all the solder off that you used in the install and see if that works with out the chip if your lucky and the ps2 works get yourself a duo chip as they are a lot easer to install and a better chip with less problems with booting new games also go over the board with a set of clocks to see have you blown a fuse the large black things with something like 50 on the top of them
