For the life of me I can't get the BBA to set up correctly. Ok, I have the 0.0.0.0 IP-slave, i set up my IP to 0.0.0.0 and stuff with q3a. I run BBRip 1.1, record the MAC addy, now heres the question, do i put in any random non-conflicting IP or what? I tried it with 192.168.1.1 / .2 / .5 and 192.168.128.15, I couldn't get it to connect with any of them. I'm getting really tired of this. What the heck am I doing wrong? Should I configure a specific IP in q3a? or what?
Comp. Specs:
AMD K6II-500
128mb pc133 ram
win2k
realtek 10/100mbs ethernet adaptor (nic)

Your DC's IP has to be in the same subnet as your PC and you MUST have the TCP/IP protocol installed, by default, windows only installs netbui and IPX.
your pc is probobly setup in this fashion:
IP=192.168.1.1
subnet=255.255.255.0
gateway=empty
dns=doesn't really matter here
Your DC should be set to something like this:
you BBA's hardware settings(stored on the DC) should be set to defaults. You can use Q3, UT or BBA passport to set these.
IP=0.0.0.0
subnet=0.0.0.0
dns=0.0.0.0
gateway=empty
proxy=empty
Then in BBRip setup an ip that wont conflict and within the same subnet, in your case:
ip=192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254
make sure the "add to arp entry" box is checked.
then put in your DC's MAC address in this format:
00-d0-f1-02-4a-2e
Your mac address will be diffrent than the one above, it's just an example. Close BBrip and open it again. Click connect.
With this info you should be able to connect.
follow xena's guide for the rest.
