My 2 Cents......... Even though I've heard numerous people refer to the Lite-on brand as cheaply made I've really never had any problem with Lite-on products until now. I just bought an 8X Lite-on DVD burner from Walmart and found out it does not work with my favorite DVD movie coping software called DVD Copy 2
. Even though I have never had a Pioneer burner yet (my other one is a TDK), I would suggest Pioneer or maybe even the Plextor unit over the Lite-on for reputation and peace of mind providing there isn't much of a price difference between the burners your thinking about.
