Yeah... on the back of the PSU where the 4 pins connect to the motherboard to give it power is a hot 12V source. However it’s always on when the ps2 is in standby. So this would mean your fan would be on all the time when in standby. But this shouldn’t be a big deal as the PS2 should be turned off with the switch when not in use anyway. You might want to put a fuse inline just to be on the safe side.

Here is a link to a picture of a V7 PSU i just took. The two circled areas are the 12V source. I can’t off hand remember which is + and which is - , I'll check latter or just use your meter to find out yourself.
