Not to be rude, but you speak of what you don’t know. Just because it can read CD-R's doesn’t guaranty that it can read DVD-R's. Same goes for DVD movies. And just because you adjust it doesn’t mean that your adjustments are guarantied to work, I have seen many V4 lasers that where so bad that they wouldn’t read DVD-R no matter how much I adjusted it.

If it’s booting CD-R PS2 Back-ups the install is correct! Doest it read CD-R PS2 games? Or were the CD-R’s you said it booted PSX games.

In addition gamesmell could be right about you not making good quality back-ups though. Can you test them on a friends modded PS2 that is known to boot DVD-R PS2 back-ups?

What brand of DVD-R media are you useing? Try Record Now Max instead of DVD Decrypter.
