Ok I have given up on the Lik sang coders cable.
I have tried every way and I have replaced the 47uf capacitors with 0.1uf ones. No diff. It also has a MAX 3232 CHIP.

Basic config of the cable was 5 capacitors at 47uf each and a Max 3232 chip.

I load serial slave cd. Borders turn blue. I upload dreamrip. Border turns red. I change port speed, then type in ok and after that the screen come sup with some weird çåßœ text and nothing happens. It doesnt even show the track listing or anything.

Please post the stats on your cable eg: where u got it, what chips it has and what capacitors an dif it works.

Thanks
Hithere
Listen, I purchased one of the Lik-Sang cables, and went just about crazy trying different things with it.
I never ever did see blue or red borders, but when I sent the SREC file to the DC unit, I did not see any '>'. I did see a ton of numbers and letters running down the PC screen.
In final desperation, I unplugged everything, and took it all to another machine, where everything ran fine the first time.

So, do not give up.
Maybe try it on someone elses PC?

I am pretty confident that if you see the Blue and Red borders, then things are O.K. with the cable.

Also when you sent the SREC file to the DC unit, did you see a message on the screen saying "change baud rate to 115k, and select o.k.?

I never saw the message until I changes machines.

I hope this helps.
