One word of caution on AnyDVD.
The program, by default, launches when the computer boots and remains in the background. In that condition my Veritas "Record Now DX" will not function properly; apparently there is some kind of interaction between the two programs.
However, if you right click on the little "fox" icon that the program places in the system tray, a popup menu allows you to disable automatic launch at boot.
The program can be launched at any later time by double clicking on the "fox" icon which the program places on the desktop when it is installed.
