Consoles lasers will burn out due to a couple things :
Having a Neo chip installed. These are known to totally screw over your laser.
Mis-use - People generally abusing there consoles will eventually break something. Such as the Knife Trick. It's a bad idea
I would personally go with the DMS3, I aint really had much experience with the Magic chips. I Know back in the day they were the best you could get. But they are out dated now.
Get a DMS3, you wont go wrong.
But they are hard to install.
