Basically its just that some chips were being claimed to have burnt out the PS2's. Many claimed it was the Messiah 2 but now many claim its just the PS2 itself. Because Sony has used cheaper matierials in making the motherboard and componants. People without mods say their ps2 burnt out on its own.


But as of recently I haven heard of any bad luck stories with any v9's anymore. Quite a few members here have either Messiah 2 or DMS3 v9/10 chips in their v9 ps2's and still claim to be using them without problems. So my advice is have a pro install your chip for you and make sure he/she warrenties it at least for a little while.
