sorry, it seems I confused you, so I explain better,
AR max supports only broadband, so we fool it by connecting PS2 to PC and using PC modem and it works fine because it only download an update file and connection speed doesn't matter.
But for broadband online games this trick doesn't work because connection speed is very important and you will disconnected from server if you use dialup connection.
