according to charlies thread on factoids on chip behavior, it could be a messiah but the only way to be sure is to open it and look for your self.

the real question is what possible gain would an installer have for not putting in the chip you requested? do you know this installer, or his/her reputation? surely good business sense would be to do the job you paid for. most likely you got what you paid for. does it work?
