A group of individuals using a current setup of a LBA48 bios with
a large F partition have been posting that all the data on their
F data dissapeared when updating to the 4979.06
We totally had no idea why as we've tested this on many many setups
and works perfectly every time.
Then it hit us - one very drunken member of Xecuter packed the
release of 4979.06 incorrectly. It's actually 4979.67 - DOH !
So apologies to those who've been scratching their heads over the
last 24 hours heh. Don't worry using this bios wont effect your
drive - simply use the correct 4979.06 in this re-packed release.
Here is why the F data dissapeared:
This ONLY affects users with these setups: If you had a bios with
LBA48 patches before and had one BIG F: drive (partition 6 only)
and the drive was above 137 gig
If you then use 4979.06 you would get an F: and a G: - this would
cut your F: to 137 gig and therefore make your directories table
invalid bringing you an empty F: drive that is smaller than before
and some space behind that could be a G: drive
Moral to this story - less alcohol when coding and packing
