First note you must be experienced at soldering to install any chip in a SCPH-5000x. The CD/DVD controller points are small and must be well prepared before soldering. This alone will create many damaged circuit boards (pads pulled off) for the inexperienced. The chip works as expected and should give the competitors a run for their money. It has not been tested by me but i am almost positive this chip is NOT HDD compatible. Stands to reason they would have mentioned this as a feature when the chip was released. All in all not a bad chip. Its projects like the Mars II and the Latin Mod and also the DUO chip that are slowly choking the Messiah 2
