Don't worry about the disconnect option if you have a 106 [IDE], yes this option does only apply to SCSI devices, the option (when checked) allows the SCSI ID set on the drive to be used on another device.
about the region: it will have a region set soon, it does not remain region free forever. after playing so many discs from a certain zone (i think you get 5 goes) it is then locked into the drive. but worry not, you can go region free
