I tried backing up Vice City but kept getting read errors at 98 %

The first attempt was using recordnow max , the second time was with alcohol 120. On the second attempt i even set read errors to ignore but it just went on for ages reporting error after error.
The disc itself had a few scratches on it , but a few other games i backed up also had scratches but did not have reading errors.
Do you think it could be the actual data on the game ?

Its a strange one , just thought id ask , im sure plently of people have backed this one up and know whats going on.
