They would still be filthy rich selling CD’s for $7 a piece. Give the producers a $1 profit per unit (1.50) give the programmers $1 (2.50), the middlemen and the retailers $1 profit (4.50) Pay shipping bills (5.50) toss aside some $ for future developments = 7.00. Do you think the programmers get over 14 percent of that $50 game on the shelf? I doubt it. Do you realize how many more millions and millions of titles the would sell at $7, and not to mention the reduction in piracy this low price would cause. But then Sony would loose profits in the burner division with less CDR media and burners being sold. After all, Sony IS the pioneer of the CD burner industry.
