Many corrections needed here.
1. Do you think they just made PS2s when they were released and quit making them? There are 9 different versions of the PS2 now, v1, v2, v3, etc. The very early ones do not play +r/+rw well or at all. v5 and up will generally play +r/+rw.
2. You make it sound like all dvd players will play dvd-r, which isn't true. You can check
here to see which types of media your dvd player will support.
3. The info above for +rw PS2 support goes the same for -rw.
