Actually, I messed up. it does read CD-r and CD-RW.
What it won't read are DVD-R and DVD-RW.
I'd like to know if there is any format of DVD recordable media that plays in any DVD, or if the older standalones, that does nor suppor the -R and -RW DVDs, are totally hopeless...
