I just tried reading the image while my computer sat and that had no effect. The stuttering still persists...ARGH!
As for games skipping on FMVs, it's interesting because they skip on any kind of movie sequence, whether it uses the game's engine or is an FMV. Err, just to make sure, FMVs like Final Fantasy movie sequences?
