I'm looking for a device I can bring around with me from site to site and for home that reads DVD's and CD's and is a DVD & CD writer. It must be of good quality, and must be external.

I have been reviewing some magazines I have and some websites on the formats with RW+ and RW-. Its a lot to take in at first.

I'm looking forward to this device however! But I want to make sure with the proper software I can back up CD's as well as DVD's if need be.

For now it will mainly be backing up large amount of files from place to place and saving some video I have.

Can you provide me with *YOUR* suggestions (based on you having more experience in this field than I currently have) on such a device?
