anyway i had a shot of dismantling my ps2 and trying to identify my chip, so the closest match i found is the "bluechip vx" also known as multiblue. matches a pin diagram i found at

almost exactly except D+ and G are swapped.
the damn thing still refuses to boot psx backups. any ideas?
