I don't think it will wait until 2006 cause the video game business is about market share and Sony doesn't want to come out with theirs behind MS and vice versa.

Nintendo and Sony both have won console wars just by being first and grabbing up all the people that just can't wait and establishing themselves early. I already read someone at MS said earlier this year that Xbox2 will come out exactly the same time PS3 will.

I don't see how the DVD burner idea works either. This is one of the last battles a company would want to wage with all the big money concerned over copyrights, there isn't much of a need for it in a gaming console, and DVD burners aren't exactly cheap yet.
