In fact, the drive adapter is VERY CLOSE to a regular IDE drive. I predict that when the drive is released here, someone will discover the format pretty quick, and allow people to use their own drives in the machine.

The pins are IDE... the power plug is in the wrong place to put in an IDE drive, but 5 minutes with a soldering iron says otherwise.
