They expect the same will have to be done with Gamecube games as Xbox. I hear that their was one team that managed to tap into the Gamecube's internal circuitry and create a game image from their but it was not any standard way a home user could put to use. Then there is still the second part of actually creating a chip to boot the games. If demand for it is high enough we may see Gamecube backups in the future, but I am not going to hold my breathe.
