If there are no patches then a PAL to NTSC (hardware) convertor is one solution. I have the same issue the other way round; an NTSC PS2 and a PAL TV and a mix of NTSC and PAL games. The NTSC to PAL convertor that I bought does the business 100%.

Earlier posts in the PS2/PSX forum also mention, in regard to PAL PS2s playing NTSC games, that a fully loaded SCART AV lead (I believe the same as the PS1 connector) produces the correct video signal across all games types.

On a technical note, so that you fully understand the above, once the PS2 is able to play a game, whether PAL or NTSC, it puts out the AV of the game involved; it's not limited to the region for which the PS2 is designed.
