thanks so much mach7... that fixed all the originals!

Now on to getting the backups to work. I have several backups that do work in my old ps1 via the eject trick... but none of them will play on the modded ps2 (even when holding down the button). I know the cd-r's are pretty cheap and generic. Is that the possible problem? If so, what is a good cd-r brand that I could try that will most likely work?

I noticed you had the same dvd burner that I do. Do you use nero, primodvd, or recordnow max to burn dvds?
