It happened to me too! But not Gamesforrent. It was
www.numbthumb.com. They Charged me at the first day I signed up, but they said 2 weeks free, and took 5 days for sending games from TX to CA!! No grace period after you cancel the account, but Gamefly has 7 days after you cancel the account.
