you need this reg-entry so the setup.exe "knows" that MGS2 is installed and can be configured.
try this:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KONAMI\MGS2S]
"InstallDir"=".\\"
"SrcDrive"=".\\"
of it donīt work fill in you complete install dir like
"InstallDir"="E:\Games\MGS2\"
