This is about backing up games to be played on the PS2. As of yet there is no PS2 emulator for the PC. You will need some kind of modchip to play these backups. There are to different kinds in general. There are no solder mods. Which as the name implies require no soldering but you must use a swap disc like Gameshark or action replay to boot the game. There are also modchips that require soldering. These require a pro to do the install but do not need a boot disc to play the game. As far as the no solder I am not sure what is the best but I do know to stay away from anything with the name Neo. These chips do damage to the laser. For a Modchip that needs to be soldered the best out there is the Messiah 2. As for software to backup your games the most recommended is recordnow. Other programs like nero, cdrwin and discjuggler can work just as well. For instructions on how to backup games see the sticky entitled "backup procedures"
