Metal gear solid- backup times

Firstly I'm sure I'm not the only one grateful for CDKillers great guide to backing up this DVD (despite its slightly dubiuously legal methods)

Secondly I think people should be aware that backing up the game is a long and possibly frustrating experience if it it doesn't work 1st time.

I therefore thought I'd start a thread allowing people to add there comments and/or adjustments to the method but, more importantly a place where we can post:

1, the times the back up took

2, equipment used

3, Winrar settings

4, number of cds' required

"future bsckers-up" can then have a resonable idea of how long the process will take.

They can they decide what to do with that time. I suggest sweeteingly up your you partner with a meal or good night out - so she'll be a little more understanding when you have to tell her " Yeah I'll coming to bed just as soon as this cutscene ends (which could be 30 minutes)"

to start the ball rolling, my stats are

1, 4 hr's 16 nins

2, 1600 athlon XP -(so 1400Mhx in matter of fact)
256mb 266DDR ram
copying from one seagate 60mb HDD to an identical drive
on 2nd IDE channel (would this make a difference????)

3, most WINRAR setinngs as sugested by CDKiller
comressed at NORMAL setting

4, 7 640mb cdrs' required with 100 mb fre for fututre patches, crax,
addons - (or porn if that's your thing!)

Thaks again CDKiller: great work, clearly presented.

Dont forget you then have to burn these files! - but i thought the wild array of burners/software/media was just to braod to be of any practical use - we all know the capabilities of our burners.
