i got my yamaha 8424ez IDE drive in early october 2000 for $106.50 delivered. amazon.com had a sale.

in april 1999 i got 2 hp7200i's for $48 each. my first died in late sept. 2000. i put in my 2nd 7200i for 2 weeks until i got my yamaha.

i sold my 7200i to a friend. i tried some self booting games on it, but it only reads the first session out of 2, then gets a buffer underrun.
he does not have a DC at this time so it is no big deal so far.
