You did a great service to the PS2 community sending me those rips as they now feature in all my reviews.
Now I suppose what you say is possible - a capacitor would smooth out noise that might find its way into the business signals. In that case it wouldn't be the boot srategy but good old electronics that the magic 3 and the DMS3 people have not adequately attendd to.
So please do it and post your findings. You might yet be the hero of the day.
