I've played through Direct Connection with:
The 1.2 official patch
the 1.0 Deviance generals.exe
the 1.2 gimpsrus game.dat
different serials
(my friend had the exact same setup as above.)
I noticed that if he tried to use the trainer that the game would crash out with a "serious error".
