DVDxCopy is the best hands down as far as time and quality. Most movies will be on 2 DVD-R's though. The newer ones anyway.

DVD2One is also very good if you are wanting movies under 2 hours on one DVD-R. There is not any real noticeable quality loss either. It may take a few more clicks and a little more time, but it is very good. Notice that this will usually be best to backup just the movie with no extras. It's free too!
