Wow, long text... luckily there's still people who brave the corporate **** ups that invent this kind of hare brained copy protection schemes....

Now I forgot which safedisc version the setup.exe is, probably safedisc 2.
This can be used to unpack the setup.exe in the setup directory on the cd. This setup.exe is the protected one that prevents an install. I haven't seen the contents of the cd, but Westwood does this with ALL its games so I know it will work like this too.. It is possible that the setup.exe uses a safedisc version that cannot be unpacked with this program, but try it and let me know what happens....
edit : remember it's the \setup\setup.exe, NOT the \setup.exe in the main dir, that's just used to start it....
