This has been answered many times - you should read the "newbie" section on the GCW site

A fixed exe is one which has it's copy protection such as Safedisk or Securom taken away from it. There are usually some cd-checks left in the exe.
A NO-CD has the protection and the cd-checks taken away - sometimes you will have to copy content from the cd to the hard drive, and you may need to use a registry fix.
Sometimes a fixed exe is basically a no-cd crack and all that needs done is the above - copy key elements from the cd to the hard drive and/or a registry fix.
