Hello, If you exhaust all suggestions or choices,
1)I would check to see if you can copy any copy protected cd's you might own. If you have already done that, and were successful, then that would narrow your problem to the particular disc.
2) If you cant copy any protection, then it is possible to be the cdrw drive, settings in the particular software you are using, or possible problems with windows(I dont believe this should be looked at except as last resort. I had microsoft sludge in my registry/ op system that was effecting the drives ability to copy my copy protected cd's, but not regular cd's.)

I think I would agree in looking at the cd as that could be determined easily by burning another protected cd to see if you can. And that was a great suggestion as to keeping the speed to 4X as I managed to make (hopefully my last) coaster by not setting the speed down to four.
Also results could be caused by lower quality cdr's/cdrw disks, but I am sure you have thought of that already and can also be ruled out by trying to burn another cd game first. By the way, if your cdrw/cdrom/dvd lens gets dirty( which is caused by static electricity picking up dust, etc., the effect could cause problems in writing a disk, and eventually in reading a disk.

Good luck
Dave S.
